Song Fiction

I’m making progress with the new book. I’m on page eighteen or so but I’m running out of ideas. The cowboy song is on hold for now. I’m waiting to get back in the studio. Tim the owner rented his studio out last week to another producer. I’m waiting to hear back from him.
I’ve written a couple of new songs in the meantime. The songs gods have been shining down on me. It’s strange, I didn’t write but maybe a hand full of songs in ten years, I was active with the poem and short fiction, and elongated fiction. I wasn’t thinking much about songs, but now it seems all I have to do it pick up the guitar and something pops out. I wrote a song last week about a cheating woman in regret. The song has nothing to do with my life in its current form, of course its happened to me in the past. It just came out. I’m glad for it. I think it’s a good song, but you never know until you play it for somebody.
