Carpet Cleaner

I ran into Jose the carpet cleaner. Jose knows everything there is to know about carpet, and more importantly, carpet stains.

He once explained to me in scientific detail why cat urine is almost impossible to remove from a carpet. He noted that cats pant as a means to keep cool so most of their toxins are eliminated through their urine. Jose is the best at what he does and if you think about that in terms of strictly numbers that’s saying a lot.

Jose and I were taking and somehow the topic of checks came up. He mentioned that a client once made out a check in the name of Jose Gonzalez, instead of his name Jose Rodriguez.

“What did you do?” I asked him.

                “I was lucky,” he said. “I have a cousin named Jose Gonzalez, so I gave him the check and he cashed it for me.”
